Student & Staff Enrichment & Care

With overarching goals of inclusivity and support for students & staff, we coordinate:

• Best Buddies - a program unifying general and special education students
• Campus beautification
• International Festival
• McMeans Men - a volunteer program encouraging male role models on campus
• Monthly hospitality events for staff such as appreciation luncheons & treats
• Red Ribbon Week - a program promoting positive lifestyles
• Reflections - a nationwide student contest celebrating the arts
• Requested professional development activities for staff
• Guest speakers for students, e.g. historical, mental health, etc.,
• Workroom assistance to give teachers more time for planning and instruction

Parent/Guardian Inclusion & Support

We want parents and guardians to feel informed and included, so we dedicate many hours to: 

• Maintaining a comprehensive calendar & informative website (pro tip: upload the calendar to your phone and bookmark/favorite our PTA website for ease of reference)
• Flyers and updates for the McMeans newsletter, the PawPrint (emailed on Fridays)
• Facebook updates & reminders (Follow us ---> MMJH PTA on Facebook)
• Sales of pre-packaged school supply kits at the beginning of the year
• Identifying and promoting volunteer opportunities for PTA and school events
